JWOC Song

Two month to got! And here it is, the official Song of the Junior World Orienteering Championship 2016 Switzerland!

“OUR ROAD is a song preformed by Emma Sundvall. The Swedish orienteer is a member of Järla Orientering. Emma has been running orienteering races since she was born. „I used to say that I was born in a tent because already as a baby I was taking part at my first O-Ringen  when I hadn’t even turned one year old yet.“ Emma has been running a lot during her childhood and youth years. But nowadays she is more into music and other things. „I never thought I would be able to go to JWOC and I did definitely not think it would be as the singer songwriter of the official JWOC-song. But I feel this is the right way for me“, Emma says.

„I have written the JWOC song together with my brother Johan, since he is really good at it“, Emma says. „At first, we thought it would be a little bit hard to write a song about orienteering, so we needed to dig deeper into the subject matter and really think what it’s all about. We wrote down guidelines and then it all just came together with time. We figured by combining the orienteering community and people it would give a good theme for the song“.
