High-speed Relay in Tarasp, 15 July 2016

To finish off the JWOC-week, there will be a true high-speed relay. The area above the castle of Tarasp allows a very high running speed. However, there will also be tricky slopes, which require precise navigation in terms of climb and distance. The ground is often covered with grass and a very few parts show some thicker vegetation.

The final loop will challenge the athletes once more and ask for top performances, as it will be highly technical, very physical, and of course, require tactical intuition.

The Swedish women’s team is defending its title, followed by last year's second and third, Switzerland and Norway. The Finnish men’s team won ahead of the Norwegians and the Swedes. The Swiss finished in 6th position. So far, the medal count for this JWOC shows the athletes from Switzerland in an unchallenged first place and thus making them the top favourite for gold in both the women’s and the men’s relay.
